Duties and responsibilities include: • Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for water control equipment and devices using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment. • Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems. • Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed. • Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or water control divices using computer-assisted equipment. • Position instructions and comments onto drawings. • Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems. • Design scale or full-size blueprints of specialty items. • Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to the materials. • Lay out and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines. • Confer with customer representatives to review schematics and answer questions pertaining to installation of systems.

SUMMARY Machines various parts, using Computer Numerical Controlled lathes and mills, per specification on blueprints for Waterman gates and other products and insures that all parts meet standards and specifications by completing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ability to read and understand blueprints, sketches, and verbal communications to produce high quality parts. Ability to write programs for Fanuc controls and basic G-code programming. Must have own tools to perform machinist type work. Needs to have excellent knowledge of machining techniques on both conventional and CNC equipment. Good communication skills both oral and written are needed. Will be asked to machine long term production runs of parts and one off prototype parts. SUMMARY Sets up and operates single spindle drill press to perform such machining operations as drilling, countersinking, spot facing, and tapping holes in metal workpieces by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Reads blueprint or job order and tooling instructions for specifications such as hole locations and size, feed rates, cutting speeds, and cutting tools to be used. Secures specified tool in spindle. Lifts workpiece manually or with hoist, places it in fixture or jig or on machine table, and secures it with clamps or holds it in position under spindle. Moves controls to set cutting speed, feed rate, and depth of cut. Engages power or automatic feed or manually operates feed lever to feed tool to specified depth in workpiece. Turns valve handle to start flow of coolant against tool and workpiece or dips tool in cutting oil prior to mounting. Verifies conformance of machined workpieces to specifications. Positions and secures drilling jig to guide cutting tool. Tilts table or spindle to machine holes at specified angles. Other duties as assigned.
